Saint Anastasia CARES Program Children Are Receiving Extended Services
MISSION STATEMENT: St. Anastasia CARES Program offers extended day care, which reflects a faith filled, developmentally-appropriate environment. The caring environment is both age and individual appropriate.
CARES is open to all students enrolled at Saint Anastasia School. The program offers a balance between adult-directed and child-initiated activities, active and quiet times, indoor and outdoor games, a provided nutritional snack, and time for Homework.
CARES is directed by Mrs. Denise Farrelly, Grade 1 teacher, and is staffed by a number of devoted and committed teachers. These people work together to help each child grow in maturity and self-respect, as well as to maintain an atmosphere where respect and understanding for others are realized.
C.A.R.E.S. will be open every day school is in session, excluding early dismissal days. Due to meetings or faculty events, C.A.R.E.S. may need to be cancelled on a few occasions. You will always be notified of these events in advance. The hours are from7:30 AM to 8:45 AM, then again from 3:40 PM to 5:45 PM.
If school has a delayed opening due to inclement weather or other emergency, then CARES will not operate in the morning. Likewise, if school should have an early closure due to inclement weather, then CARES will not operate in the afternoon.
Fees are based on a per day basis. The fees are as follows:
$30.00 Family Registration Fee
Morning Fees
Afternoon Fees
Single Child Family
$10.00 per day
$15.00 per day
Multi-Child Family

$18.00 per day
A bill will be given at the end of each month. You will be billed only for the days your child(ren) attended CARES. All checks should be made payable to St. Anastasia School.
Late Pick up Fees
$5.00 for the first 10 minutes; $1.00 per minute thereafter. Late fees apply to each child being picked up late. Late fees are billed separately, and must be paid in CASH.
A bill will be given at the end of each month. You will be billed only for the days your child(ren) attended CARES. All checks should be made payable to "St. Anastasia School."
CARES will be held in the C.A.R.E.S Room unless you are otherwise notified. An adult will need to drop off, and pick up the child/children by coming into the CARES room and signing them in the book. The child may only be picked up by the authorized persons listed on the emergency form.
For afternoon pick up, the adult picking up will ring the white door bell and wait for a CARES faculty member to let them in the building.
Additional areas of parental responsibility are the matters of prompt fee payment and prompt pick-up in the afternoon. Regular and prompt payment will assure the continuation of personnel and the provision of ample supplies, equipment, and snacks. Fees are the sole support of the CARES Program. Prompt pick-ups in the afternoon are appreciated. Staff members are only employed until 5:45 PM. It is only common courtesy to respect the time of closure.
Emergencies and Safety
With the children’s safety and well being in mind, it is MOST important that the parent fill out an Emergency Form and adhere to the instructions given. One of the most important regulations concerns the child’s leaving the premises of the CARES Program. Parents or guardians should not take the children from the school yard or other areas without notifying the CARES Program staff and signing out the child. Parents and guardians should not send persons whose signatures are not on the Emergency Form. If a person other than those indicated on the Emergency Release Form will be picking up your child, you will need to notify the school in advance.
Expectations For Children’s Behavior
As members of a caring community, the children will be expected to respect the staff, each other, and the materials and environment provided. They must never leave the building or grounds without explicit permission of the CARES staff. Such permission will only be granted by order of the parent or guardian. Any child who does not conform to the set rules and regulations of the CARES Program is liable for dismissal.
Homework
A scheduled homework period will be provided. It is the child’s responsibility to have his/her assignments and books. Children may not go back to their homerooms to get these items. Parents are responsible for checking the child’s homework before she/he returns to school the following day.
Illness or Accident
In cases which appear to be minor in nature, First Aid will be administered on the premises. Medication will not be administered by mouth unless both a written statement from a physician detailing method, amount and time schedule AND a written statement from the parent authorizing the staff to assist the child in taking such medication are on file. In cases which appear serious, the staff will make an effort to carry out the instructions as given on the Emergency Form. Parents who do not wish their child treated in any way should indicate such on the Emergency Form and should give directions to be followed in the space, “Special Instructions.” If the home does not supply adequate emergency instructions, or if the instructions given cannot be followed at the time of the emergency, CARES staff will act according to their best judgment for the welfare of the child.
