If my child is not feeling well and has to stay home, could they join class virtually for the entire day rather than being counted as absent? |
Yes, if your student is in grades 4 - 8 they will have the ability to attend class virtually. For the second trimester, Grades K - 3 will have the avility to attend class virtually - information was sent home regarding this virtual learning. Preschool and Pre-K will not have the option to attend class virtually. An absent student will able to complete their assignments on their grade's LMS. We appreciate parents' diligence in monitoring their child(ren)'s health each day. |
If school must go to full time virtual learning, what does that mean for Kindergarten? |
If school must go to full time virtual learning, Kindergarten through 8th grades will have a full day of virtual learning. (Pre-S and Pre-K are tbd) |
Will each classroom have virtual learning capability or just one per grade? |
Each grade will have one classroom dedicated to virtual learning at this time. |
Can my child opt for virtual learning if we are uncomfortable with sending them back even if they do not have a medical concern? |
Yes, if you have a Personal Concern or Medical Issue, please contact our school administration. |
Can my child start virtual then come back to school in person when I am comfortable? |
No, families opting for virtual learning will sign a contract that will be for the duration of one trimester at a time. At the end of the trimester the possibility for change will be discussed. |
Will virtual learning be live streamed or recorded? |
Virtual learning will be live streamed (K-8), and not recorded for later use. At this time Preschool/PreK will not offer virtual learning. |
If I withdraw my student just for this year, will I lose my existing family status for next year and have to apply as a new family? |
No, registration will be three tiered for 2021-2020. |
Registration round #1 will open first to those families with children in our school this 2020-21 school year, and they will pay the Existing Family Registration fee, as usual. |
Registration Round #2 will then open second to those families who utilized another means of learning outside of St. Anastasia only for 2020-21 and wish their child(ren) to return in 2021-22. They will pay the Existing Family Registration fee. |
Registration Round #3 will then open to New Families who do not have students in St. Anastasia, and they will pay the New Family Registration fee. |
Registration dates will be communicated in December. |
When will we get classroom assignments? |
Please expect classroom assignments in early September. We appreciate your patience at this time. |
If I withdraw my student can they return in January or the spring? |
No, the decision to withdraw your child is for the entire 2020-21 school year. Your child cannot return until September 2021. |
If we must move to full time virtual learning are younger grades getting Chromebooks or iPads? |
Grade 4-8 will have Chromebooks to take home every day. Grades K-3 are to be determined. |
What will virtual learning be like for Pre-S and PreK if the school is sent home as a whole? |
Virtual learning for Pre-S and Pre-K is to be determined in the event the whole school must move to virtual learning. |
Are you accepting new students in all grades? |
Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting students from new families. |
If my child begins in-person learning but then we really don’t feel comfortable, can they move to virtual? |
Yes, but your child must stay out for the rest of the trimester. |
Are buses running for us with public school virtual? |
We encourage you to please contact your school district. |
Where will our children eat lunch? |
At the beginning of the school year, as an additional step to keep them healthy, students will be eating in their classrooms. Allergies will be accommodated. |
Will Aramark Lunch Service be available? |
We will not be using a food service company for the first few months. Students will need to bring their own lunch, snack, and drink (lunch bags or paper bags are fine). Pretzels will not be sold. |
What if my child just cannot wear a mask all day? |
All students must wear masks except when eating, drinking, rest time, or during mask breaks. |
If someone in my cohort goes home suspected to have COVID, does our cohort go virtual until there is a result? |
Since this an ever-changing process we will follow CDC instructions and formulate a more updated plan before school begins. Continue to check our Reopening plan, as that is updated as we learn more. |

Will the task force meet regularly and adjust procedures as they see fit? |
Yes, the task force will meet regularly and reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the plan as needed. Our website, plan, and questions will be updated as more information or changes come about. In addition, a Virtual Learning Taskforce is working at each grade level to make sure our virtual learning process best fits the needs of our virtual learning students and to be prepared if we must go to full time virtual learning. They will continue to meet and make changes as needed throughout the year. More details from them will follow over the next few weeks. |
