5th Grade - Summer Reading
Welcome to 5th Grade
My name is Mrs. Davis and I will be your ELA teacher this year. I hope you are having a great summer and I am looking forward to meeting you in September!
During the summer I would like you to read 2 assigned books.
The first book I would like you to read is The Book of Turtles, by Sy Montgomery. This is an interesting non-fiction book with amazingly detailed pictures of turtles. After reading this book, you are to complete the nonfiction book report. Please answer each question completely using neat handwriting.
The second book is called Ghost by Jason Reynolds. This is a realistic fiction text about a boy who wants to be the fastest sprinter on his track team. After reading Ghost, complete the worksheet focused on analyzing the main character. Please be detailed and use neat handwriting as well when writing in each white puzzle piece (11). Lightly shade each puzzle piece using a different color crayon or colored pencil.
Summer assignments are due by Friday, September 5th. I hope you enjoy reading these books!
